About Reporting Right

Reporting Right is a long-term media and democracy project which aims to support local journalists by arming them with easy-to-access information, data and useful background on the often-well-disguised anti-democratic forces that threaten the communities they cover.

Detecting misinformation and determining the credibility of sources is a problem for the general population. It is also a problem for journalists.

Reporting Right was founded in November 2023 by Kyle Spencer, an award-winning journalist, former New York Times contributor and the author of Raising Them Right - the Untold Story of America’s Ultraconservative Youth Movement and its Plot for Power, which will be out in paperback in September 2024.
